About The Author

Maitreyanatha (c. 270–350 CE) is a foundational figure in Mahayana Buddhism, often considered the human teacher of Asanga and a key founder of the Yogacara school. Traditionally identified as the Bodhisattva Maitreya (the future Buddha), scholars often distinguish him as a historical Indian master who authored the "Five Treatises of Maitreya," including the Mahayanasutralamkara.
