TOM HALVORSON, MBA, CPA, CFP® is co-founder and chief development officer of Freestate Advisors, an SEC registered investment advisory firm. Twenty years ago, after spending the first half of his career in management consulting and business leadership, he turned his primary attention to personal investing. Along with his business partner, Tom began evaluating the opportunities for improving the standard approach advocated by the investment advice industry, an approach largely unchanged since the 1960s. Their research was so successful it led them to create the SmartRisk Investment Process™ and make their strategies available to individual and institutional investors.
