About The Author

Dr. Tenisha Warner is a writer with a PhD in psychology whose books help children notice what they feel before they have words for it. Through her brand, River & Ember, a family storytelling company, she holds the thread between generations and tends to a child's emotional life first. Her debut picture book is Maya Meets Her Feelings: A Feelings Doctor Book. She also leads the Warner Family Foundation, which carries forward the creative legacy of her husband, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, by supporting young artists. She lives in Atlanta, where she is raising and homeschooling their daughter.
