About The Author

Ranjita Biswas is an independent journalist, author and award-winning translator. She translates from Assamese and has seven published works to her credit, among which are Written in Tears authored by Arupa Patangia Kalita that won the Best Translation Prize in English from Sahitya Akademi in 2017 and The Loneliness of Hira Barua, another of Kalita’s books which won the PFC-Valley of Words Award, 2021. 
 
She has also written a coffee table book, a travelogue and several short stories.
