Geoffrey Kent

Geoffrey Kent is the founder and chairman emeritus of Abercrombie & Kent (A&K), the pioneering luxury travel company that helped define the modern safari and elevate adventure travel worldwide. Born in 1942 while his parents were on safari in what is now Zambia, he grew up in Kenya’s Aberdare Highlands, where Africa’s wild beauty sparked a lifelong passion for exploration. At sixteen, he completed a remarkable two-month, 5,000-mile solo motorbike journey from Nairobi to Cape Town.

After graduating from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and serving in the British Army, Kent returned to Kenya to lead A&K, transforming the family business into a global leader spanning all seven continents and helping pioneer experiential luxury travel. A lifelong conservationist, he founded Friends of Conservation in 1982 and later established Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy to protect wildlife and support local communities. Honored with the World Travel & Tourism Council's Global Icon Award, Kent has traveled more than eighteen million miles across 172 countries, redefining luxury adventure travel through innovation, conservation, and an enduring spirit of exploration.
