CHELSEY GOODAN 

In her debut book, UNDERESTIMATED: The Wisdom and Power of Teenage Girls, Chelsey shares her experience of sixteen years as an academic tutor and mentor specifically focused on the empowerment of teenage girls. She regularly speaks to audiences about gender justice, conducts workshops, and coaches parents on how to better understand and connect with their daughters. She is the founder of The Activist Cartel and the mentorship director of DemocraShe, a nonprofit that guides teenage girls from historically underrepresented communities into leadership positions. As an activist, she advises public figures, galvanizes volunteers, and organizes large-scale events for national nonprofits, while also serving on the board of A Call to Men, a nonprofit working to end gender-based violence. Her passion to explore humanity’s potential for authenticity, liberation, and empowerment permeates all of her work. A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Chelsey lives in Los Angeles.

TARA ABRAHAMS  

Tara Abrahams is a passionate global advocate for girls and women. She is currently Head of Impact at The Meteor, a media company that uses the power of storytelling to advance one of the greatest causes of our time: the freedom and dignity of all women. Tara also serves as board chair of She’s The First, a global girls’ rights organization that reaches 150,000 girls around the world every year; and of the International Center for Research on Women, a global research institute working to accelerate global progress towards gender equity. Prior to The Meteor, Tara served as interim managing director of VOW, an initiative working to end child marriage around the world, and as executive director of The Girl Project at Glamour. Tara began her work in girls’ education and women’s empowerment as the president and deputy director of Girl Rising, a global campaign that raised awareness about the importance of educating girls in the Global South. She has advised a variety of leading girl-focused initiatives, from Girls Who Code to the Girls Opportunity Alliance at the Obama Foundation.

SARAH JONES

Called “a master of the genre” by The New York Times, Sarah Jones is a Tony® Award-winning solo performer, writer, comedian and activist. She recently starred in and made her directorial debut with Sell/Buy/Date-- a film, executive produced by Oscar winner Meryl Streep, world premiered at the SXSW film festival as an opening night selection. Jones is mainly known for her multi-character one-person shows, including Broadway hit Bridge & Tunnel, originally produced by Streep, and the critically-acclaimed play Sell/Buy/Date, which inspired the film. She has also appeared in various film and TV projects, including co-starring in the Netflix series, On the Verge. Jones recently launched Foment Productions, a social justice-focused entertainment company aligned with her progressive activism. Renowned as “a one-woman global village,” Jones has given multiple main-stage TED Talks garnering millions of views, performed for President and First Lady Obama at the White House, and gave a performance at The World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland as the first artist on its stage normally reserved for heads of state. She is also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, raising awareness of gender, ethnic, racial, and economic injustice and disparities.
