Smashburger Tacos

It’s not a smashburger; it’s not a taco—it’s both. Combining the crispy crunch of a taco shell with the irresistible flavor of a smashburger, this juicy, delicious recipe doesn’t mess around. 

 

1/2 cup mayonnaise 

2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish 

1 tablespoon mustard 

1/2 teaspoon white wine vinegar 

1/2  teaspoon onion powder 

1/2  teaspoon garlic powder 

1/2  teaspoon paprika 

1/8  teaspoon ground white pepper 

6 (6") flour tortillas 

1 pound 80% lean ground beef 

Salt 

Ground black pepper 

6 slices American cheese 

3/4 cup shredded lettuce 

1/3 cup diced white onion 

18 pickle chips 

 

1. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, relish, mustard, vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, and white pepper. Set aside. 

2. Place tortillas on a flat surface. Form beef into six palm-sized balls (about 2 1/2 ounces each). Flatten each beef ball evenly onto a tortilla, leaving about a 1/2" border around the edge. Season with salt and ground black pepper to 

taste. 

3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place each tortilla meat-side down and cook 2–4 minutes until beef is browned and crispy. Flip carefully. Immediately place 1 slice American cheese onto each taco. Cook another 2–3 minutes until cheese melts and tortilla is golden brown. 

4. Remove from heat and top each taco with lettuce, onion, and pickle chips. Drizzle with mayonnaise mixture and season with salt and ground black pepper to taste. Fold each tortilla in half and serve immediately!
