Hello everyone!

How is it nearly Autumn? I’m not ready to say goodbye to this remarkable summer yet! Not only has my summer been action packed and full of golden memories, but it's also been the most glorious weather here in the UK all summer long and I've kind of got used to living in sun dresses!

I'm excited to tell you all about the US republication of my very first novel, Ralph’s Party! Ralph’s Party first came out in 1999 and while it was a huge hit in the UK it was a quieter thing entirely in the US. But now my lovely publishers at Atria and Simon & Schuster have bought back the rights to those early novels and will be republishing them over the coming months and years.

Ralph’s Party is a gritty romcom set in London during the mid-90’s and tells the story of six inhabitants living in three separate apartments in the same house. It’s quirky and silly and sometimes quite funny and I hope you’ll give it a chance, if for no other reason than 90s nostalgia! Oh, and the absolutely stunning new jacket!

Two weeks ago, Jascha and I spent three nights in Taormina in Sicily to celebrate our twenty-fifth wedding anniversary in the very hotel where they filmed season two of the White Lotus! It was much less eventful than its portrayal in the show, but every bit as beautiful and magical! Now we’re heading down to the seaside for five nights with my extended family, and then on the 2nd September I’m flying into Toronto for an amazing one-off event organised by my publishers. From there I'm flying to New Orleans for three days at Bouchercon where I am the British Guest of Honour for 2025, and then on September 13th Jascha and I are flying to Ibiza for a five-night holiday with friends to round off our summer off in style.

Remarkably, somewhere in between all this fun and good times, I must finish the final draft of book 25! Wish me luck!

So that's me for September. Next time I write I might well be wearing knitwear – nooooo! – and will hopefully have delivered the final draft of my new book and be cracking on with my Audible Original novella. But until then, enjoy the dog days of summer 2025, and I’ll see you next month!
