About the Book

A memoir of an ordinary midwestern mother who, after surviving the unthinkable and having her faith shaken to its core while navigating international adoption, ultimately used her grief to make a positive difference in the world.

When Nicole and Will O’Brien, quietly raising their family in Ohio, decided to pursue international adoption, they had no illusions the path would be easy—but they never could have imagined the level of deception and treachery they would encounter. The journey was a roller coaster of heartbreak and joy, grief and triumph, despair and hope. Along the way, they lost their children due to child trafficking, Nicole lost her voice, and they both found themselves questioning God’s purpose in it all. But from the ashes of their pain, indescribable beauty ultimately rose up: Together, they founded a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting community development and confronting issues that lead to child trafficking.

Alternately heart-wrenching and uplifting, The Yes That Changed Everything will leave you challenged and inspired to face all that comes your way with courage and purpose.
