About the Book

Red thinks being the most important pencil in the box is all that matters, until a colorful discovery proves that everyone shines brighter when they work together.

What happens when one freshly sharpened red colored pencil takes center page? The pencil box is thrust into mayhem as all the colors clamor for attention and assert their worth despite Red’s me-first attitude. Join the pencils through a rainbow of feelings as they work out their differences and discover that working together can create something even better than they imagined.

With a playful introduction to light and the color spectrum, this captivating picture book blends social-emotional learning with an accessible touch of science. Bold graphics, colorful characters, and a vibrant visual landscape bring Red’s journey from self-importance to teamwork and humility vividly to life.
