About the Book

When the answer to almost every question is at our fingertips, is there still a place for curiosity?

Ben Hamer thought he was one of the most curious people around, right up until the day he realised he wasn't. So, he set himself a project to find people who have retained the curiosity most people have lost – often in the most challenging situations – and discover what it helped them achieve.

Ben’s quest led him to have conversations with some fascinating individuals: a former conspiracy theorist, a sexologist, a rocket scientist who quit to make the best croissants on earth, a four-time Formula 1 world champion who took up a farming apprenticeship, and a man raised in a cult, told what he was allowed to think until one day he wasn't. What they turned out to have in common was harder, and far less comfortable, than just asking questions.

The Curiosity Project is for anyone who likes to think of themselves as curious but hasn't checked in a while. Be inspired by the conversations in this book to rediscover the importance of the human superpower that is curiosity. It will make you the most interesting person at the dinner party, and the worst at pretending to know things

Dr Ben Hamer is a globally awarded futurist. It's his job to figure out what's coming next. He's worked at the World Economic Forum, been a Visiting Scholar at Yale University, and is an Adjunct Professor of Practice at Edith Cowan University. Ben was diagnosed with ADHD in his mid-thirties, after years of treating his restlessness as a flaw that he needed to fix. It just never occurred to him to get curious about it instead.
