About the Book
Follow a baby alligator through a lush wetland world teeming with chirps, croaks, ripples, flutters, and an abundance of ecological marvels in this lyrical nonfiction picture book.
When we think of a swamp, we typically think of muggy, sweltering heat, swarms of bugs and birds, and boggy, clammy, spongy wetness. But for a baby gator, it’s home sweet home.
In the heart of the wetlands, frogs leap, herons glide, cypress trees tower, and hidden creatures stir beneath the roots and reeds. This celebration of a misunderstood ecosystem reveals swamps as magical marshes bursting with beauty, life, and wonder.
