About the Book

A wonderful bilingual children’s picture book celebrating the long history of visitors to New Mexico’s El Morro National Monument. With a touch of magic and striking illustrations, children will learn the fascinating story of the many visitors who signed their names in the rock over the centuries.

Join Rose on a magical time-travel adventure as she journeys through the ages with an amazing talking raven as her guide. As they fly through the centuries, Rose learns the fascinating history of New Mexico’s El Morro National Monument. Countless visitors have drunk from the springs and carved their names on Inscription Rock, leaving a unique record of the region’s history.

The magic raven guides Rose through the history of the early Puebloans, the Spanish explorers, the United States Army, and the early American pioneers who were moving west. James Mansfield's striking illustrations bring this wonderful bilingual story to life.
