About the Illustrator
Iranian illustrator Shideh Sekhavati was born on June 7, 1989. Iran's capital city, Tehran, is home to her. Art has always been a part of her life because she has been interested in painting since she was a young girl. She has spent the last five years working as a freelance illustrator. Shideh earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture and art. She has nine years of drawing and narrative writing experience in addition to her degree. Shideh is the author of three children's books that she has also illustrated: The Elephant in a Dark Room, Don't Crawl!, and Look!.
