American author Jessy Humann has always believed that words matter. And if she’s certain about anything in this world, it’s about the power of words and how they can make people feel. She loves the feeling that comes from reading a beautiful piece of writing, and she loves the contentment she feels when she writes from her heart. Maarten Arys (1988) studied illustration at the LUCA School of Arts in Ghent, Belgium. When local newspaper De Morgen commissioned him to complete several illustrations, it resulted in a long-term collaboration. More recently, Maarten has begun illustrating children’s books. He enjoys working with traditional materials, such as watercolor paint, gouache paint, and colored pencils.
