About The Author

William Shakespeare, poet, playwright and actor, was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1564, the son of a glover, merchant and justice of the peace. He attended grammar school and later went to London, where he worked hard on his career, becoming established as a dramatist by 1592. He he is generally regarded as the world's greatest English writer.
