About The Book

"Redcoat mixes history and the unknown for a tantalizing start." —AIPT

Immortal. Mercenary. Kind of a tool. Meet Simon Pure, the newest UNNAMED hero, created by comic all-stars Geoff Johns and Bryan Hitch.

British soldier and all-around rogue Simon Pure has led quite an exciting life. Or lives, really. After a failed assassination of General George Washington at the Battle of Trenton in 1776, Simon stumbled upon hooded figures performing a bizarre ritual that accidentally gave him immortality.

Since that fateful day, Simon has died and returned countless times over, rubbing elbows (and sometimes fists) with history’s most renowned figures, including his nemesis Benedict Arnold, Albert Einstein, and many more. But what are the true origins and extent of Simon’s power, and the clandestine cabal behind them? And how does this group intend to use him to destroy America? Simon means to find out, even if it finally kills him!

Andrew Currie has established a notable career in the comic book industry, initially cutting his teeth on black and white independents before securing a position as an in-house artist at Games Workshop. His expertise quickly drew the attention of major publishers, earning him roles with Marvel, D.C., Dark Horse, 2000A.D., and IDW.

Twenty years ago, Currie joined forces with Bryan Hitch to ink The Ultimates at Marvel, a collaboration that sparked numerous subsequent projects, including their latest endeavour, Redcoat. Over the years, Currie has also worked alongside distinguished artists like Neal Adams and Dougie Braithwaite.

His extensive experience and adaptability have made him a respected and influential figure in the British and global comic book scenes.
