Q. What is your motto or maxim?

A. “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.”

Q. What is your biggest pet peeve?

A. Drivers who talk on the phone or text while driving.

Q. What are your 5 favorite songs?

A. Okay, here's where you learn that I'm a bit weird. I don't listen to music. I love the quiet. My favorite sounds are the rustle of Aspen leaves in a gentle breeze, the chirp of mating frogs in the spring, the howl of coyotes on a foggy night, the deep bass tones that come from my cathedral wind chimes, and the soft cheeping/whistling of my guinea hens as they search for seeds.

Q. If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you choose to be?

A. Right where I am. I think we live in paradise aka, the Willamette Valley in Oregon!

Q. If you could meet any historical character, who would it be and what would you say to him or her?

A. Susie King Taylor. She wrote the only first person account of life as a female slave during the Civil War. And I wouldn't say much, I'd just sit and listen to her stories.
