Q. What is your motto or maxim?

A. “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.”

Q. How would you describe perfect happiness?

A. Sitting with my husband in the shadow of our barn. A good book in my hands, our dogs sleeping at my feet, the goats lying nearby chewing their cuds and the chickens pecking the ground, searching for bugs.

Q. If you could be any person or thing, who or what would it be?

A. I think I'd be a well-loved dog. Possibly an Anatolian Shepherd dog with a huge enclosure, a job to do, a warm and dry place to sleep, and plenty of food and water.

Q. What’s your best quality?

A. I'm kind, well, most of the time.

Q. What is your biggest pet peeve?

A. Drivers who talk on the phone or text while driving.
