Q. What is your motto or maxim?

A. Never say with eight words what you can say with nine. I don't really do mottos.

Q. If you could meet any historical character, who would it be and what would you say to him or her?

A. I don't really think like that. I'd love to meet anybody from history and I'm sure I'd have loads of questions and comedy advice like never travel on a ship called Titanic but choosing one person and not another doesn't seem interesting to me.

Q. How would you describe perfect happiness?

A. I think perfect happiness is an oxymoron. I'm not looking for perfect anything. I do have a strategy for happiness though and it is as follows: Clear my head - that means tidying my space, sorting out my tax or dealing with personal stuff. Then I go in search of adventure, it can be anywhere and in any form and doesn't even have to be new, but it often involves getting post and situations where I don't know the outcome. Then I make stuff - writing a book, doing a drawing... There's often difficulty finishing stuff I started that requires fairly brutal self discipline but when it's done I'm happy and proud. Then I start again.

Q. What’s your greatest flaw?

A. Being nice as hell and a bit innocent.

Q. What’s your greatest fear?

A. People's excuses for disrespecting one another.
