Shelby Bach

Shelby Bach grew up reading every book she could find and writing stories in battered notebooks. She also rarely came home with a clean shirt and had a lot of accidents that ended with a hunt for Band-Aids. Nowadays, she writes on her laptop rather than in a notebook, but not much else has changed. She is the author of the Ever Afters series, which includes Of Giants and Ice, Of Witches and Wind, Of Sorcery and Snow, and Of Enemies and Endings. She lives in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Q. What is your motto or maxim?

A. Written on the cover of my journal: "I go to seek a Great Perhaps." - François Rabelais (via John Green)

Q. What do you regret most?

A. Right now, I really regret staying up so late. And I regret not drinking more coffee this morning.

Q. What’s your greatest flaw?

A. I have a temper like a volcano. No activity above the surface for eons, but when I finally erupt, it causes a natural disaster.

Q. Which living person do you most admire?

A. My mom (Yes, I know everybody says this, but I do.)

Q. If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you choose to be?

A. Funny you should ask! I just took an epic road trip to find the next place I wanted to live, so I recently settled exactly where I wanted - Portland, Oregon.
