Clare DeGraaf is a follower of Jesus, an elder, Bible teacher, and blogger. For more than thirty years, he’s been a full-time spiritual mentor of men all over the world—from college students to business and church leaders. At age thirty-one, a crisis of faith led Clare to reject his cultural Christianity, sell his successful manufacturing business, and devote the balance of his life to serving God. Clare and his wife, Susan, live in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and are the parents of six children and grandparents of fifteen.

Q. What is your motto or maxim?

A. The purpose of my life is to make God look good.

Q. If you could eat only one thing for the rest of your days, what would it be?

A. Fricano's pizza, a great hamburger or Kentucky Fried Chicken. That is one thing, right? Junk food.

Q. If you could be any person or thing, who or what would it be?

A. The closest thing to Jesus you can be in this life.

Q. What is your favorite occupation, when you’re not writing?

A. Meeting one on one with a interested non-Christian.

Q. How would you describe perfect happiness?

A. Gathered with our whole family at our cottage on Lake Michigan on a bright, sunny afternoon, sharing stories of what God has done in and through our lives and laughing our heads off at each other's foolishness. It's my perfect day.
I know the dream well. I've experienced it so many times. Thank you God.
