Q. How would you describe your life in only 8 words?

A. Writer, Mom, Teacher. I love being outside!

Q. How would you describe perfect happiness?

A. Good health, good friends, my family, the sun on my skin, everyone safe, happy, and worry-free!

Q. What’s your greatest fear?

A. I am way too superstitious to put it in writing.

Q. If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you choose to be?

A. Oh, someplace tropical. With a white sand beach and a lovely pool overlooking the ocean.

Q. Which living person do you most admire?

A. My best friend, Danae Woodward.

Q. What are your most overused words or phrases?

A. Those terrible old standbys, "like" and "you know."

Q. What do you regret most?

A. My misspent youth.

Q. If you could acquire any talent, what would it be?

A. I wish I could sing, and play an instrument. And I wish I spoke another language.

Q. What is your greatest achievement?

A. My amazing, incredible, beautiful daughter.

Q. What’s your greatest flaw?

A. Laziness.

A. Thoughtfulness.

Q. Who is your favorite fictional hero?

A. Toss up between Dorothea Brooke (Middlemarch) and Cassandra Mortmain (I Capture the Castle). I also have a little crush on Dick Diver (Tender is the Night).

Q. If you could meet any historical character, who would it be and what would you say to him or her?

A. Andre Trocme, a French pastor who led a very courageous and nonviolent resistance during World War II.  I would thank him for inspiring me with his courage, and his faith, and ask him how he overcame his fear in order to do what he knew was best.

Q. What is your biggest pet peeve?

A. Rudeness.

Q. What’s your fantasy profession?

A. I always thought it would be fun to be a casting director.

Q. What 3 personal qualities are most important to you?

A. Compassion, Intelligence, and Humor.

Q. If you could eat only one thing for the rest of your days, what would it be?

A. Hot and sour soup.
