Q. If you could meet any historical character, who would it be and what would you say to him or her?
A. It goes without saying that I would love to meet Edgar Poe. I would like to tell him how much the world loves his work and how, through his writing, he spawned the genre of mystery fiction. I'd also like to thank him for the inspiration. Then I'd probably barrage him with all sorts of questions and, if it didn't seem like too sensitive a subject, I'd ask him what happened on the night he was found delirious in Baltimore.
Q. How would you describe perfect happiness?
A. Coffee, good company and a cool autumn day.
Q. What do you regret most?
A. Not investing in an espresso machine.
Q. What is your biggest pet peeve?
A. When people perform Poe's work with a British accent. It's a little petty, but Poe was a Southern gentleman!
