Karsten Knight has been writing since the age of six, when he completed his first masterpiece: a picture book series about an adventurous worm. In the two decades that have followed, Karsten has worked as a proofreader, a bookseller, and a college admissions counselor before he finally decided that his true calling was to be a volcano goddess biographer. Q. What is your greatest achievement?

A. I shot a -10 playing Wii Golf last week. Also, publishing a novel.

A. Happiness is a seat at an open-air restaurant on Ocean Drive in South Beach, Miami. And a large mojito.

Q. If you could eat only one thing for the rest of your days, what would it be?

A. Sushi, specifically any form of spicy maki--spicy tuna, yellowtail jalapeno, shrimp tempura...

Q. Who is your favorite fictional hero?

A. The T-Rex from Jurassic Park (I promise this is my last dinosaur reference).
