Q. What is your motto or maxim?

A. Delay is death - Peter the Great

Q. With whom in history do you most identify?

A. William Herndon, Lincoln's law partner, who was hated by many for telling us so much. And yet, the best of what we know of Lincoln we owe to Herndon.

Q. If you could meet any historical character, who would it be and what would you say to him or her?

A. Jeanne d’Arc. And I would say, “Listen, young lady. You don’t have to lie at your upcoming trial but you could be little bit more like our own Bill Clinton and just not tell them everything.”

Q. Which living person do you most admire?

A. Dan O'Neil, co-founder of Mercy Corps. He did it all perfectly.

Q. What is your greatest achievement?

A. I once finished a 100,000 piece puzzle of the Neuschwanstein Castle.
