Alice Sebold made her literary mark with her #1 bestselling debut novel The Lovely Bones, which was published in 2002 and made into a movie in 2009 starring Saoirse Ronan, Mark Wahlberg, and Stanley Tucci. That same year, she served as guest editor of the acclaimed The Best American Short Stories annual anthology. She is also the author of Lucky: A Memoir and The Almost Moon. Born in Madison, Wisconsin, Sebold earned her BA from Syracuse University and her MFA from the University of California at Irvine. She lives in California.
